How to Order

I'm ready to order - What should I do now?

See the chart on the Pricing and Options page to determine which size package is best for you (don’t forget to make sure you have enough freezer space!).  Then, just give us a call at 605.431.6575 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. When will my order be ready?

34 Ranch has beef available now.

If you order a whole beef and have specific instructions for how you would like it processed, you can expect it in about 3-4 weeks.

How will my beef be packaged?

Our Grillmaster and Gourmet packages are packaged in cryovac, and most orders for quarters will be packaged that way as well. If you order a half beef or more, your beef can either be packaged in cryovac or double packaged in plastic wrap and butcher paper.

What are 'custom cuts'?

Custom cuts are those not listed on our standard sheet. If you are ordering a half or whole beef, you may request a specialty cut like a brisket, whole prime rib or a whole tenderloin.

34 Ranch also has beef heart, liver, tongue, and oxtail available. If you’re interested in these less-common but fun-to-cook-with specialty items, just drop us an email and we can send you pricing and availability. Do I have to pick up my beef?

No.  If you’re in the Rapid City area, we’ll deliver it to you. Otherwise, see the ‘Delivery and Shipping’ section below.

What about delivery or shipping?

If you are ordering from the Rapid City area, we’ll be happy to deliver to your door. Addresses outside the city limits may require a small delivery fee.

From any other US location, we can ship to you. Your beef will be sent to you via FedEx or UPS*.

*A couple rules from the state of South Dakota: We cannot legally send more than 300lbs. to one household, your 34 Ranch beef may not be resold, and must be for use in your household only.

How long will my beef last in my freezer?

At least a year. If the package is unopened and the freezer is set at zero, your beef will last and shouldn’t have any compromise in quality. Personally, we have had good results with double-wrapped product lasting at least two years.

If you want the official answer, the USDA says frozen chops, steaks, and roasts are best within 4-12 months, and ground beef is best within 4 months, but that frozen foods, if kept frozen, are safe indefinitely.
